Straight from the Clown’s Mouth
Attention – scary clowns ahead! Proceed at your own risk. Funhouse is a 3-reel, 5-line slot from Microgaming which may seem to be somewhat timid with its unpretentious design and symbols – namely the more than basic single/double/triple bar, but upon a closer look, you’ll easily spot there’s more to it. And by more, we mean a scary clown face grinning at you with a smile that nightmares are made of. Stephen King might be interested more in this sinister-looking character but we’ll focus on the winning combinations. When we signed up to review slots, creepy clowns were never part of the deal. So, the payouts – the logo of the game is the highest paying symbol that is also wild and can replace all others. It yields the highest payout of the game – 5,000 coins when it lands on the fifth payline. If you land three wilds on some of the other four paylines, you get anywhere from 2,500 to 1,000 coins. Three bags of candy will get you 80 coins, and the bar symbols will earn anywhere from 4 to 60 coins.

Conclusion – Bright Design and Straightforward Gameplay
It can put on as many bright colours and scary clown faces all it wants but this slot is really just a basic release with a straightforward gameplay. You can play with a minimum of 1 coin and a maximum of 5 coins. The coin value can be 25p, 50p, £1, £2, or £5. This sets your betting range at £0,25 – £25. If you bet one coin, you activate one payline. So, the more coins you wager, the more paylines active and the higher your chances of scooping the highest payout of three logos on the fifth payline. There are two playing modes – regular and expert, with the latter offering an autoplay option should you feel like pressing the Spin button every time is a nuisance. And that’s pretty much all there is to it. No bonus features for us to elaborate on, so all we can say is – if you’re in the mood for a simple slot, give Funhouse a try. Provided you’re not easily freaked out by evil clowns, that is. The humble payout will hardly cover your PTSD therapy, you’ve been warned. Use our comment section below to let us know what you think of the game or to share a traumatic clown experience – we know sometimes it’s best to just vent to strangers on the internet.
