Format and Basic Rules
I honestly couldn’t be happier with this slot, both in terms of presentation and features. It has clearly taken inspiration from noire detective stories of the 40s and 50s, and wears that inspiration on its sleeve with pride. The hard-boiled private eye, alongside all of the other staples and tropes of the genre, have been beautifully illustrated and painted as symbols on the board, all to the sounds of some smooth jazz that really puts you in the era. When it comes to bonus games, our detective adventure isn’t lacking in those, either. Admittedly, the big bonus game is a bit rare, and not particularly exciting, but it’s there, it’s thematic and well-presented. If you get three bonus symbols on the last three reels, you get to pick clues in your office in order to continue your investigation, with each clue netting you a prize. If you happen to discover the fingerprints, you enter a second round where you pick mugshots for even bigger prizes. In addition, getting a Free Spins symbol on the first three reels nets you 20 spins at 4x multiplier.

Conclusion – Get On The Case
I feel quite comfortable recommending this slot to anyone who feels even remotely drawn to detective stories of the 1940s. It’s got everything one could possibly want – wonderful, thematically fitting visuals, a bonus game with multiple stages, free spins and some pretty smooth music (what can I say, I have a soft spot for jazz). Admittedly, it doesn’t exactly do anything that other slots haven’t done in the past, and as such it won’t start any revolutions, but then again, it doesn’t really need to. Detective stories have always been about playing to tropes, letting the reader in on the conventions of the genre to help them solve the mystery alongside the investigator. So with that in mind, perhaps the slot’s lack of originality and its focus on polishing what features it already has works out to its favor, in a meta sense. And I do mean that as a compliment!
