Egyptian Riches – Full Game Details
The mystery surrounding the ancient home to Pharaohs has inspired countless depictions from the likes of Shakespeare, to today’s Hollywood blockbusters. And there’s something for everyone: the mummies and their appetite for revenge appeal to horror fans, while the relationships between Antony and Cleopatra add a (highly convoluted) romantic element. Unfortunately, this slot game from Scientific Games doesn’t quite hit any of those marks. See what we mean in the free demo of the slot below.

An Overview of the Rules and Features
Slots developer, Scientific Games, has a lot of games in its repertoire with questionable graphics and soundtracks that sometimes leave us questioning who would choose to play them. There are literally thousands of slot games available to play on the internet these days, so you, dear reader, you can afford to be picky about which ones are worth your time. This five-reel, three-row slot isn’t terrible. But Egyptian Riches hardly stands out as a particularly good slot game. Sure, all of the mechanics to a slot are here – click to spin, matching symbols pay out across 20 selectable paylines. But that’s where the positives end, really. The symbols are stereotypically ‘ancient Egypt’ – we’ve got a scarab beetle, a cartouche, a vase, an ankh, eye of Ra, Anubis, and a Cleopatra bearing zero resemblance to the real queen – she’s more the type made famous by Elizabeth Taylor. Weirdly, there’s no riches to be seen in any significant way, although the truth is that Cleopatra’s likeness was actually used on many forms of representational currency – at her own request, too. There’s also an interesting depiction of what a cat with scoliosis might look like. There isn’t a soundtrack to really speak of, rather a selection of clanking noises that abruptly assault the ears when the reels spin, or a winning payline is highlighted. We’re also missing any type of free spins or bonus features in this game. The Bonus symbol instead acts as a scatter – find more than three across the grid for a coin multiplier.

Conclusion
Although the theme has so much potential, it has been blown around like the sands of Cairo. Scientific Games must have been really in de-Nile if it thought that Egyptian Riches was a good slot game. It does offer a nice return to player rate (RTP) of 95.99% and certainly functions the way a very basic slot should, so we won’t judge you if you want to give this game a try. However, with so much choice out there, we’re sure there are better options. Tell us if you think we’re being too harsh in the comments below.
